This image came out more macabre than planned, but we stuck with it; Gallowglass seemed to enjoy a bloody conquer. |
Take 58 - The One With the Secret Castle Tour
Description: After getting out of that disastrous dinner with Rudolf, Diana and Matthew reflect on what they saw/thought/smelled from Ashmole 782. Gallowglass is doing his best to get them to break it down for to him as if he were a medieval vampire. They determine that they have break into the castle, and steal the book, and then beat feet out of Prague. But how? It seems Jack has and is the key to bust in, get the book, and get the f*ck out of there! A short, but great chapter! Enjoy!SPOILER ALERT! We (The Daemons) approach this podcast with an assumption that the listener has read All Souls universe books, including the trilogy (A Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night, The Book of Life), and Time's Convert + snippits from The World of All Souls. If you haven't, and you don't mind, we certainly don't mind! Please be advised, we will approach the television series (A Discovery of Witches) the same way as episodes are released in the US/Canada. π Let's do this. *Note - this podcast is labeled 'explicit'

Chapter 32, Shadow of Night
- Who the f*ck would make this damn book?!
- Jean made her conclusions based on the fact that vampires don’t die naturally, so the assumption is that all of these creatures were killed -- welp, we can't prove her wrong, can we?
- The mini history lesson on vellum
- The word “flay” YIKES π±
- The entry of the possibilities in modern time with DNA!
- Poor Gallowglass, but he does well with the DNA convo!
- The question: why can Diana carry Matthew’s child? No surprise, everyone knows why this question is being asked. The vampires apparently had meetings about this! π
- The necklace, the order of the defeated dragon, Dracula … and Baldwin.
- Gallowglass is a pretty blood-thirsty mercenary!
- “Christ!” We love when Matthew says this.
- How are they going to get into the castle? Enter Jack.
- Matthew learns how little control he has in his own house based on Jack's mini adventures in the castle, with de Clermont staff and family acting as accidental tour guides.
- Pierre and Gallowglass give a summary of all of the places Jack’s seen at Rudolf's place! π
- The ring of keys!
- Jack is very versed on the goings on in the house, including the magical stuff π§π»♀️
- “I’m in your debt, Jack,” can we get an 'awww'?!
- Matthew and Gallowglass come back covered in blood dirt and soot…but they've got the book!
- The first 3 pages are gone, and just like that, we feel like we are back to square one.
- The book talked back!✨π✨
- It’s time to go back to England! Get on the boat! π’
- Bon vs. Bone fires
- Nose to tail use of the resources. Hair to sew the pages, bone for glue, skin for vellum.
- The tree of life and the book of life in one.
- To take it back, or leave it back in this time?
- Jean has theories. They are pretty good!
- We ditch out into the subject of DNA.
- Matthew has some news for Diana!
- Matthew de Clermont, husband, father, vampire π§π»♂️

* Our episode titles are a loving tribute to the show "Friends" just 'cause we love Friends and - let's face it - it's easier! Here's how one of the show creators explains their reasoning:
Jeff Greenstein: "When Marta & David & Jeff & I did 'Dream On', we used to spend a lot of time thinking about titles, because they were on-screen at the top of each episode. On "Friends", we decided that was a waste of time. We figured, why not name each episode after the thing that people will ostensibly be talking about around the water-cooler the next day?"
